Websites for Finding Recipes

Here's just a quick list of recipe sites that I like or use.  I make the distinction because some sites have good recipes but a lot of pop-up ads and sometimes I don't have patience for them.

ALL RECIPES  (http://allrecipes.com/)
Flashy and orange, with quite a lot of ads, but it does have lots of recipes.

MEALS.COM  (http://www.meals.com/Index/Index.aspx)
Lets you plan out meals and search by categories like ’30 min or less’ and ‘5 ingredients or less’.

RECIPE SOURCE  (http://www.recipesource.com/)
Lots of ethnic recipes.

EPICURIOUS  (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/)
These tend to be fancier recipes, out of several magazines, but some are quite simple and tasty.

BETTY CROCKER  (http://www.bettycrocker.com/)
Lots of easy ‘Add bisquick’ or ‘open box of Betty Crocker this or that’, but not a bad resource.

LAND O’LAKES   (http://www.landolakes.com/)
Mmm… butter.  Lots of good cookies plus chicken and peppers and other tasty recipes.

SOUTHERN FOOD at ABOUT.COM  (http://southernfood.about.com/)
Lots of good, basic, home-cooked food.  You can sign up for a weekly e-newsletter that sends recipe suggestions.

COOKS RECIPES  (http://www.cooksrecipes.com/)
Good site with lots of recipes and cooking tips.  Featured recipes on the main page change pretty often.  They have recently added advertisements to the top of the recipes, so you have to scroll down to see them.

Update 1/1/06 - it seems that the British cookery website no longer exists.
